Opportunity:
   Dietary intervention to treat elevated triglycerides in individuals living with HIV infection.
Summary:
   This is a dietary intervention study the goal os which is to improve serum lipid levels, and insulin resistance in individuals who are HIV positive and have these abnormalities. The nutrition intervention consists of a high omega-3 fatty acid and fiber intake, and low glycemic index diet. Subjects come to the General Clinical Research Center at lunch time for the first 3 weeks of the study for their meals. For the following 10 weeks they come in weekly for education and specific foods. At 6 months there is a final assessment of diet and laboratory variables.
