We have used multidimensional spectroscopy of natural waters as a fingerprint to identify geographical origin of an unknown sample, and/or to analyze for chemical content. Currently we are extending those capabilities to shrimp samples from around the world, in a collaborative project with the vet school involving issues of environmental degradation and biodiversity. Recently we have collected a large data set for analysis by chemometrics like PARAFAC and N-way Partial Least Squares. This Summer Scholars Opportunity involves analyzing the existing data sets, and, when necessary, collecting additional fluorescence data if necessary. |
