Opportunity:
   Emotional Availability in Mother-Child Interactions
Summary:
   As part of a large investigation of an intervention to prevent child maltreatment and enhance the lives of young families, we are studying interactions between mothers and their young children (infants, toddlers). Students will participate with a team of undergrads and graduate students to code videotaped interactions of families in their homes. Students will be trained to observe and code emotional availability between mothers and their children.

What is the timeframe for this research opportunity?
   Summer, 2009 (with possibility of extending throughout academic year).
Prerequisities for students?
   CD or Psych 1, CD 61
Responsibilities for students?
   Coding of videotaped data; perhaps some data entry and analysis. Possibility for more than one Scholar to work on this project.
