A new particle accelerator, Large Hadron Collider at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland, will start in Summer/Fall 2009 recording data from proton-proton collisions at energies far exceeding what was available until today. A feasibility study of whether it will be possible to observe events that would indicate existence of extra dimension is proposed. The research would involve simulation, reconstruction and and analysis of collisions as they will be observed with ATLAS detector, using ATLAS Monte Carlo tools and software. Apart from being interesting, this research could lead to continuing involvement with ATLAS analysis with real data, when they become available later this year. |
