Drug Resistance |
| Summary: |
| |
Research Opportunities exist in the area of microbiology and genetics, particularly related to the mechanisms of resistance to antibiotics. These studies involve E. coli and other bacteria (both gram positive and gram negative). Research is chiefly directed in two areas; one is the transcriptional regulation of genes which produce drug resistance in bacteria and the second is the mechanism of active efflux of drugs. A mechanism first described in this laboratory. |
